I was determined to score, says Deo

Tailevu Naitasiri midfielder Abishek Deo says determination is key to performing well and he ensured he got onto the scoresheet and helped the team beat Nasinu 2-1 in their opening match of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.

The 23-year-old from Manoca in Nausori was the darling of Tailevu Naitasiri scoring the winner deep in injury time.

"It wasn't easy an easy goal to score, but I am thankful it got through, but it was done by alot of hardwork and determination from myself and my team," Deo told FijiLive.

The Rewa Youth Program product said his goal has given him alot of confidence going forward into the tournament.

"It's  different playing the Premier League, and playing in a big tournament like this, but we are united and ready to show we can compete."

With Nadroga next on the Security Services Management sponsored Southerners' radar, Deo said he is focused on getting the same result in that battle.

"We want to win the against Nadroga and I will do my best to give my all for my team."
