It was a team effort, says Nabenu

Young Suva defender Simione Nabenu, who headed in the winner over Ba in their 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT opener at the ANZ Stadium on Sunday attributes team work for the victory.

Nabenu's 68th minute goal made all the difference in the torrid encounter where the Whites were tested well by RC Manubhai Ba.

"I did not do (score) it alone, it took the entire team to get that goal, and I was just lucky to be at the end of it to finish," the humble Nabenu told FijiLive.

The 22-year-old, who is the son of former Ba, Tavua and national defender Waisea Nabenu said he was happy the Rams Cleaning Services/ All Freight Logistics sponsored side managed to come away with the win, especially coming back to the FACT after 18 months.

"Coming back from COVID-19 and to the Premier League had been hard, but we have stepped up and done our preparation well.

"The team is a united front and we hope to continue to give our best for this tournament."
