Traditional giants of Fijian football, Ba are ready for their Group B opener of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT against defending champions Suva.
Despite their 2-1 loss to the Whites in the Digicel Premier League earlier this year, Coach Imdad Ali is confident about their chance against the more experienced and star-studded opponents.
"Ba is ready and I can say that with confidence."
"The players don't need to be reminded of their duty because we have surpassed the difficulties in in the League."
"Our loss to Suva was a good learning experience because we have come to know of their strengths and weaknesses."
"Playing against a leading team like Suva can be difficult because we will be playing at their home ground yet that does not harm us."
"We had a solid nine rounds of league games where we managed to bounce back to the third spot and that means a lot to us because we will be applying our league tack-ticks in Fiji FACT."
He added the first match will determine their fate in the tournament and the new three weeks format will give them enough time to prepare for the next fixture.
"Our aim is to start registering wins from the first match and that is something we want to focus on getting."
"Football is a 90 minute game and each minute will be a test for us so the players will have to make use of every opportunity we get. We don't want players to wander in the ground instead give their 100 per cent."
"I think the format is really excellent and it will help the teams to recover, re-group and restructure so that when we come for the next match we don’t make excuses," he added.
Ba will meet Suva at 3pm at the ANZ Stadium.
