16 Drua players make PNC squad

16 Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players have been named in the Flying Fijians 34-man squad for next month’s World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.

Coach Vern Cotter has roped in a mixture of Fijian powerhouses playing in the Super Rugby Pacific, Top 14, Pro-D2 and Top League competitions around the globe.

“It’s very exciting and a real honour for us to present the first Flying Fijians squad of 2022 to the Fijian people”, Cotter said.

“The Fijian Drua players come to us battle-hardened after their impressive first season in Super Rugby Pacific, and they will compete fiercely for spots with those players returning from the French Top 14 and English Premiership Rugby.”

The Drua players include Haereiti Hetet, Tevita Ikanivere, Mesulame Dolokoto, Manasa Saulo, Isoa Nasilasila, Ratu Leone Rotusolia, Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta, Rusiate Nasove, Frank Lomani, Simione Kuruvoli, Peni Matawalu, Teti Tela, Apisalome Vota, Kalaveti Ravouvou, Vinaya Habosi and Ilaisa Droasese.
