Ba will return strongly in DPL: Waqanicakau

Ba Captain and goalkeeper Sanaila Waqanicakau is confident the side will put up a better performance in the remaining matches of the Digicel Premier League.
Waqanicakau said the Men in Black will train hard and look to improve in all aspects of their game after a soaring 4-3 loss against Labasa in the semifinal of the 2022 Fiji FACT.
"The loss to Labasa is a big injury for us and I'm sure the players are hurt."
"But yes, we will make a strong start in DPL and the players will be very aggressive and dangerous."
"I think we just need to work on all areas of football because we can't blame our fitness only."
"We lacked in certain areas in every game and right now that's the big thing we need to work on."
"The players gave a good performance in the tournament and we knew teams like Suva, Nadroga and Naitasiri would be hard to beat but we the boys went in and played good football."
He also said not reaching the finals of Fiji FACT was an eye opener and it has also set a challenge to the players to put up a better show in the nine rounds.
"We lost in the semi-final maybe because we were not applying a lot of pressure and that has ringed calls on our performance."
"Fiji FACT really helped us to perform well and also gave us an idea on changes we need to make in our performance.”
"Next is league games and I'm sure the team will rectify their mistakes and come back strong."
"Every player is being challenged to shape up their football game and mend their positions," he added.
Ba is currently in the third spot with 18 points after 6 wins and three losses.
