Drug test will recommence in DPL: Yusuf

Drug tests will recommence at all Fiji Football Association sanctioned events when the Digicel Premier League recommences on June 19.
Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf told FijiLive that they did not have the drug test procedure in the first nine rounds of the DPL and Fiji FACT as the company that was conducting the tests was sold off.
"The company with whom Fiji FA was liaising for drug test since the last two years has been sold to a new company. Well we did try to make a deal with the new company unfortunately we could not get the drug test running in the Fiji FACT."
"However, we have just received their response and most likely the drug test will resume and it will be in the remaining DPL, BOG and IDC."
Yusuf said they are targeting to test at least three players from each of the 10 participating districts and has requested players to be vigilant.
"We want to keep football drug-free sport and our medical team will be at the DPL venues to continue with the testing of players."
"We are urging district players and officials to come clean and enjoy the games."
He added that players tested positive will be given immediate suspension from football.
