Maqala secures Bayonne Top 14 return

Fiji's 2020 Olympic gold medalist and Bayonne outside centre Sireli Maqala scored a double against Mont-de-Marsan in their 49-20 win during the French Pro-D2 grand final to secure a spot back in the Top 14 next season.

The side returns to French rugby’s top competition after a one year absence.

Maqala has been a star for the side all season.

Maqala’s final performance could not have come at a better time after the star recently signed to stay with Bayonne for two more seasons.
