Pratap ecstatic to reach first final

Labasa Coach Ravneel Pratap will feature in his first tournament final tomorrow when the Babasiga Lions face champions Suva in the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT at Lawaqa Park.

After guiding the side to a 4-3 win over Ba in the semifinals today, an overjoyed and emotional Pratap said he has accomplished one of his goals, which was to reach a tournament final.

Speaking to FijiLive, Pratap who took over the reigns of the team last season said he really wanted the Northerners to play the final of the Fiji FACT.

“When I joined Labasa last season, we did not have a good season.”

“Again coming into this year, we did not have a good season.”

“We were trying our really best in the League yet we could not reach our aim.”

“Coming into this tournament, after the first game I told myself that we can play the final if we change our game plan and our game structure.”

“We changed some things within the team and also the players came with a changed attitude.”

“I really wanted to see Labasa reach the final and now I am confident that with the same level of ball game, we can win the final.”

“Right now we are ready to play either Suva or Lautoka because the boys are hungry for a title win.”

“This is my first tournament and I feel extremely happy to be part of this team who was by my side during our hard times and reaching this far means a lot to me.”

“I thank the boys and the players for believing in me and always helping me in the team.”

“The whole credit goes to the boys because they gave in their entire effort and made sure that we reached the final.”

“We would not have reached the final if these players did not sacrifice their time. Our families are back home praying for us and we are also playing for them.”
