Soromon hungry to win first tournament

Suva's Ni-Vanuatu striker Azariah Soromon is eager to score more goals and win his first tournament on Fijian soil.

After netting a double in the Whites 2-1 win over Lautoka in the semifinals, Soromon said winning the 2022 Fiji FACT at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka will be special.

“Ever since I joined the side I heard people talking about tournaments in Fiji and I always wanted to experience playing a tournament.”

“So this is my first tournament and I feel really fortunate that Suva officials believed in me and gave me the opportunity.”

“Playing tournaments is really different and I feel it’s more intense and the pace is really fast.”

“I really wanted to score goals in the tournament and I did that but I’m really hungry to help the side defend the title.”

“I also want to score more goals and every goal I dedicate to my parents back home in Vanuatu.”

“They are away and I always miss them and all my goals are for them. Also I want to thank my team for the teamwork through which I scored the goals.”

Soromon is also in contention for the Golden Boot award and has three goals to his name, one less than Labasa marksman Christopher Wasasala.

The grand final between 4R Electric Labasa and Ram's Cleaning Services and All Freights Logistics Suva will commence at 3pm.
