Wasasala ready to face champs

In-form Labasa marksman Christopher Wasasala is ready to face his former district and champions Suva in the grand final of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

After netting a brace in their come from behind 4-3 win over Ba in the semifinals, Wasasala said he is hungry for more goals and is determined to help the Babasiga Lions win the title after five years.

“It’s always special to play against Suva and tomorrow it will be special because I will face them in the final.”

“In the last Fiji FACT I was with them and we won at Subrail Park but this time, I will be playing against them.”

“So the atmosphere and the game will be at a different level.”

“Playing against Suva will be tough but I am challenging myself to score a goal against them.”

“I have been eying to win the golden boot award but now my aim is to also help Labasa win the FACT title.”

“I think for me, I just have to score goals and take advantage of every opportunity. Today I missed some good chances but that can’t come back but I can put up a good performance tomorrow.

“I’m really confident to score more goals tomorrow.”

Wasasala currently leads the Golden Boot race with four goals to his name and is closely followed by Suva striker Azariah Soromon who has netted three times.
