Board will decide on Cole's contract: Yusuf

Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf says Digicel Fiji Kulas Head Coach Lisa Cole's contract extension will be decided by the parent body's board this week.

Cole's contract comes to an end and Yusuf confirmed she will be departing the country this week.

Yusuf also said the board will re-look at her performance before they advertise the head coach’s vacant position later this month for next year’s OFC under 15, 17, 19, and the Pacific Games.

"The contract has expired and that depends on the board. She is set to return sometime this week."

"We will look at our commitments and schedules and then we will advertise the position and the board will have the final say."

"Right now we cannot say anything about her contract because it's the board that will decide on what’s next on Fiji women’s football list."

"We need some expert coaching to continue developing these young girls and the women's team for the Pacific Games and the age grade OFC football."

Meanwhile, Cole told FijiLive that she is happy to continue coaching the national team and also assist in developing the age group teams.

"My contract ends soon but there will be a discussion with Fiji FA and see what the future holds based on the result of the tournament."

"I wanna put together and be a part of the show and if the direction Fiji is going in, then I would love to stay here."

"I have fallen in love with this group of players who are tremendous with their performance."
