Former OFC Champions League golden boot winner Sanni Issa will feature for Rewa in the regional competition which kicks off in New Zealand this month. The seasoned Nigerian had a brief stint with the Delta Tigers in 2012 before moving to Suva and shining in the Capital City boys Inter District Championship triumph in the same season. He then moved to Ba and featured in the 2013 OFC Champions League where he won the golden boot after netting 9 goals. Issa also received the golden ball award for being the best performing player in the competition. His illustrous career in Fiji took a wrong turn when he was deported from the country for breaching his visa conditions and he has been playing and living in New Zealand. The 30-year-old has also featured for Lautoka, Amicale FC and Auckland City in the OFC Champions League. His inclusion will add depth and experienced upfront for the Marika Rodu coached side which has also secured the services of Brazilian midfielder Marcelo Tannus. The OFC Champions League will be played at Ngahue Reserve in Auckland between August 4-17 and Rewa is in Group B with with defending OCL champions Hienghène Sport, Nikao Sokattak of the Cook Islands and nine-time winners Auckland City FC.
