Only 8 teams will feature in BOG: Fiji FA

Only eight teams will feature in the 2022 Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament in Lautoka at the end of this month.

Fiji FA Competitions Manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that the top eight teams from the Digicel Premier League will participate in the tournament.

He said the teams will be seeded according to their ranking in the DPL.

Pal also mentioned that some Digicel Women's Super League matches will also be played during the tournament to give further exposure to women's football in the country.

The pools of the Battle of the Giants tournament will be drawn on Thursday at the Ocean Soap at Navutu Industrial in Lautoka.

The group matches will be played from 26-28 August at Churchill Park while the semifinals and final will be a week later at the same venue.

Rewa defeated Suva 1-0 via a Bruce Hughes goal to win the last edition of the tournament in Lautoka in 2020.
