Fiji remains on song in FANCA WCup

Host Fiji is a match away from securing its spot in the grand final of the 2022 Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and America (FANCA) World Cup after registering a 1-0 win over Australia at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Friday.

Captain Mohammed Shazil Ali's lone goal made all the difference for the Intiaz Khan coached side which remains unbeaten after three matches.

Fiji will meet Canada in its final match tomorrow and a win in the fixture will seal their direct spot in the final while a negative result could see them finish second and play a semifinal clash.

Meanwhile, defending champions New Zealand bounced back to winning ways and registered a 2-0 win over Canada.

Afghanistan import Ali Nazari opened the account for the Kiwis in the 1st minute before James Hoyt increased the lead in the 26th minute.

Tebara Halal Meats Fiji will play Canada at 1.15pm.
