Fate in our hands: Mereke

Nasinu Football Club defender Nasoni Mereke said the team were well aware that this weekend would determine their fate in the Digicel Premier League.

Sitting bottom of the table with four rounds to go, Mereke said they knew full well what is in front of them.

“It is do or die for us and we know it,” Mereke told FijiLive.

“We know what we have to do to keep alive in the league, and it is not easy.

The 31-year-old said his side were focused on getting the task against Nadroga done this week, no matter what the challenges.

“We need to win, there are no two buts about it.

“If we want to stay we have to give our all and more in the remaining rounds.

“Nadroga are a determined team, but so are we and I know that our boys will prepare hard and throw themselves into the contest.”

Nasinu hosts Nadroga at 12pm at the HFC Bank Stadium on Sunday.
