Solo outclass Fiji, face NZ in final

Futsal giants the Solomon Islands outclassed Fiji Presidents Five 5-1 and have qualified for the OFC Futsal Cup 2022 final at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

The Kurukuru were quick to get on the scoreboard through their pivot Eddie Kasutee and a few minutes later Arnold Maeluma doubled their lead.

Fiji came from behind and pulled one back through lanky Kavinesh Lal but the visitors led by 2-1 at halftime.

Despite a gallant performance from Neemish Ram, some errors in Fijian defence allowed Solomon to score three consolation goals from Clifford Misitana, Benjamin Mana and Junior Sammy Lalo in the second stanza.

Meanwhile, New Zealand defeated New Caledonia by 6-1 in their final Group B fixture.

Solomon vs New Zealand final will kick off at 6 pm at the Vodafone Arena in Suva tomorrow.
