Zahid gets double in O-League opener win

Two goals from former national striker Abbu Zahid was enough to secure Rewa a strong 3-1 win over Nikao Sokattak in their Oceania Football Confedaration Champions League opener in Auckland today.

The clinical finisher scored a goal on other side of the half to  secure a perfect start to the sides campaign.

Rewa led at the break 2-0 through a second minute goal from Zahid and midfielder Tevita Waranaivalu.

Zahid scored again in the second half to give them a 3-0 buffer.

The Cook Islanders stayed in the fight and managed a late consolation goal in the 78th minute.

Rewa take on Auckland City in their second game on Monday at 12pm.
