T/Naitasiri eyes first IDC title

Survivors Tailevu Naitasiri has eyed to win its first Premier Division Courts Inter District Championship that kicks off on the 5 of October at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Head Coach Nigel Khan said the side has never won IDC and their target is to win the championship this year despite playing in the Premier Division category.
Naitasiri is drawn in Pool A with Nadogo and Digicel Senior League Viti Levu Zone champs Tavua while Pool B has relegated Nasinu with Rakiraki and Seaqaqa.
"Of course, we want to win the IDC and that’s our target in the tournament," Khan said.
"We are doing our preparation and some of our players were away for University and religious tournaments but they are back."
"We have a few niggling injuries in the team which is a concern but we have quality players who play their best football."
"Sad, we didn’t play in the BOG but that has motivated the boys to give their best in the IDC because it’s the last tournament for the year."
Khan added that Tavua would be T/Naitasiri’s toughest rival as the two sides had a tough contest in the Digicel Senior League in 2021.
"We are drawn with Tavua and Nadogo. Tavua is always a good team and tough to beat also."
"The players are aware of what Tavua is capable of but we are not weary of them."
"Nadogo is not a new team for us also. We don’t expect any less from them."
"Looking at Pool B, it’s a good Pool also."
"I think both the Pools are drawn evenly and every team will come prepared."
"We can’t expect anything less from any team we meet but we hope to win the IDC this year," he added.
T/Naitasiri will open its Premier Division IDC campaign against Tavua at 11 am at the HFC Bank Stadium on Wednesday and play Nadogo at 1pm at Bidesi Park on Thursday.
