Loss was a wakeup call: Ali

Nadi football head coach Fazeel Ali said their 2-nil loss to Tailevu Naitasiri was a wake-up call for the side in registering its 3-1 win against Suva today.
Ali said the side went back to its drawing board and rectified its mistake ahead of the match against the whites today.
“After the loss yesterday, the girls realised what tournament football is like.”
“They were reminded of the difference between playing in a league and a tournament.”
“So yesterday’s loss against Naitasiri really ignited the fire in the players and woke them up.”
“The girls said they wanted to win today and I told them if they are to win, we have to stop making mistakes and just focus on finishing. They did that and we got the win.”
“I think Suva was a very tough team. They held us till the last minute but we kept trying and scored till the final minute,” he added.
Nadi will face Ba in its all-important deciding pool match at 3.30 pm tomorrow.
