Players need to pull up their socks: Swamy

Ba Coach Kamal Swamy says players need to pull up their socks and improve on their performance before their next Digicel Premier League match against champions Suva.

The Men In Black registered three straight losses and Swamy said there are a lot of areas that need improvement.

“The players need to work hard during the training session and put up a good level of performance when we play Suva. Football now has changed because it’s not easy and the competition is getting very tough.”

“It’s the entire team that needs to understand that we are the soccer champs in the country and that we have to iron the little mistakes out from the team. When we played against Rewa, the attacking and defense was there but we did not have the finishing.”

“Ba is known to be one of the best teams and that is the reason why people are questioning our performance. They are looking at our game but we are giving enough game time to the players and we surely will improve before the Suva match.”

He also mentioned that fans' disappointment and pressure will not deter him from trying his hard luck to bring Ba on track.

“I believe there is a lot of pressure on me but I have not lost hope and I am determined to build up a stronger team. Whatever comments we are getting from the fans should not put the team morale down instead we are getting boost from our fans that come down to support us.”

“As we go along in the DPL, I’m sure that things will overturn only if we put our entire effort in doing so. Teamwork is really important and eradicating the silly gaps in the team is very important because we can’t afford to keep losing.”
