Davis safe, shares terrifying experience

Fiji's lone female professional footballer Trina Davis is safe in Israel but had a narrow escape as she witnessed the Israeli military and Palestinian militants in Gaza exchange deadly airstrikes and rocket bombardments.

The 19-year-old in a social media post said during their training session in Tel Aviv yesterday, the sirens went off and she saw almost a tonne of missiles and rockets.

"Scariest moment of my life, I went into a shelter by the field. I am safe now, staying with a family.” she wrote.

Things have escalated with Israel and Palestine and Palestinian protesters and Israeli police have clashed on a daily basis in the past few weeks in and around Jerusalem's Old City – home to major religious sites sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims and the emotional epicenter of the Middle East Conflict.
