Fiji FACT could be held in November: Yusuf

Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf says there is a possibility of shifting the Digicel Fiji FACT to November this year.

Yusuf said the first major tournament of the year cannot proceed this month due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Fiji.

He also mentioned that Fiji FA will  make changes to their event dates as the Digicel Premier League was to resume from today, but the virus continues to prevent competitions.

“The DPL was to resume this week but because of the pandemic, we have been left behind and already are running late in the competition. There is a high chance of deferring Fiji FACT to November which was scheduled to be played this month.”

“We still will have to make some arrangements for the other tournaments and competition line up and if things get worse then we might have to also shift some tournaments and finish it till December.”

“The decision will be made seeing how long this pandemic will drag us. We are keeping our hopes high for this pandemic to end so that the sporting activities resume and we don’t have to consider making huge changes.”
