Tracking player fitness progress via video

The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has left local football associations coming up with ways to engage and keep track of player fitness and wellbeing.

Suva football association president Ritesh Pratap has confirmed that player fitness monitoring has been made easy via daily video uploads from players.

“It’s pandemic and a very hard time now so we resorted to paying players through a new system. We have asked the players to make video footage of the training they are doing and after viewing the footage we pay them.” he said.

“The players get the allowance depending on their training. We have set this system up because we understand some players depend on football for their family expense and suspending the allowance is not a step we took.”

The Digicel Premier League defending champions will face the Online IT Solutions Ba when sporting activities resume in the country.
