Rewa works on defence ahead of Nadi clash

The Rewa football team is currently working on their defence ahead of the match against Nadi in round 7 of the Digicel Premier League.

Coach Roderick Singh said they need to have a solid defense and avoid goals from Nadi.

"You know we are all here in the race to win the league and last year we finished second but this year we have eyed the league."

"Defense had been our weakness and the boys are doing their personal training at home and we are trying to conduct training on our backs."

"Our striking force are very fast and they are very consistent in their work. We just have to make sure our defenders are strong enough to help the team in defending the ball from Nadi."

Following their first loss, two draws and and three wins, Singh said the side started to pull from their first loss to Suva.

"Suva is a very tactical team and we lost to them but they did show us our weak areas and the team worked on that."

"We were able to secure three wins although the two draws are not bad but then again we have been frequently going back to the drawing board and mapping out the areas that need to improve, " Singh added.

Rewa will meet Nadi when sporting activities resume in the country.
