Saifiti scores only try in Knights loss

Fiji Bati prop Jacob Saifiti scored the sole try for his Newcastle knights but went down against a gutsy Sydney Roosters by 8-28 in round 19 of NRL last night.

On the 13th minute mark, the Knights stormed down the field and finished with Jacob Saifiti barging his way over to open the scoring.

Kalyn Ponga added the conversion and kicked a penalty to secure an early lead for Newcastle with 8 points.

But the Roosters replied through Sitili Tupouniua and Joseph Manu while James Tedesco converted once giving them a 10-8 lead at the break.

Hard luck failed for the Knights when the Roosters came hammering them with four unanswered tries from Daniel Tupou, Lachlan Lam, Sitili Tupouniua, Angus Crichton and Tedesco converted once and sealed the win.
