We need to be well prepared: Singh

Rewa Coach Roderick Singh says they have to prepare well for upcoming games and cannot afford to leave things to the last minute.

He said following the hint that football activities might resume behind closed doors next month, they have to keep their priorities right and preparations on track.

“Football is such a sport that requires a lot of thinking and planning because we play for 90 minutes and players need to be fully prepared for that. We can’t afford to pile up our work and wait for football to start and we also start doing our training. That actually puts the team behind.”

“Our focus now is to start overcoming our weaknesses, which is our fear. The weaknesses in terms of our planning and ball play on the field are something we want to take away from the team.”

“I think the boys are putting their entire effort in doing personal training but we also soon want to start training as a team. We heard some news that football will kick off next month behind closed doors and that’s something we all are waiting for.”

Rewa will face Nadi in Round 7 of the Digicel Premier League when sporting activities resume in the country.
