Valemei to miss Storms clash today

Fijian and Canberra Raiders winger Semi Valemei will miss the Storms clash in round 22 of NRL tonight.

This after Valemei has not recovered from a throat injury he suffered last week.

The winger is expected to miss two weeks' game and his third week will depend on recovery, reports the

Bailey Simonsson (toe) returns after five games on the sideline and has been named on the wing but coach Ricky Stuart said on Wednesday he will start at fullback.

Jordan Rapana will return to the edge.

Iosia Soliola joins the interchange bench at the expense of Elijah Anderson, who played just four minutes in his NRL debut against the Dragons last week.

Matt Frawley and Siliva Havili were the first two players cut from the squad 24 hours before kick-off.

A Canberra win will give Ricky Stuart his 100th victory as Raiders coach.

Meanwhile, Storms Ryan Papenhuyzen is expected to be fine despite copping a knock to the knee last week in his third game back from a concussion lay-off.

Jordan Grant was the other player to drop out of the squad along with Asofa-Solomona yesterday.

Storms have won eight from eight matches at the Sunshine Coast Stadium

The Raiders vs Storms match will kick off at 9.50pm tonight.
