Baber hopeful to see Katonibau coach Fiji 7s team

National 7s Head Coach Gareth Baber is hoping to see former sevens forward Aisake Katonibau coach Fiji 7s team.

Baber in an interview with Fiji rugby Media said he was impressed with Katonibau’s assistance and support during the 2018 Hong Kong 7s.

The Welshman said Katonibau could make a good 7s coach in the near future with his vast sevens experience.

Katonibau is currently coaching Northalnd 15s team in the Skipper Cup and backed Baber ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

Baber also highlighted that ‘Ice’ was always supportive towards the players during their camping period in Fiji.

He said Katonibau had been sending videos messages to boost the players during the Oceania sevens in Townsville and also during the Olympic Games.
