37 weeks is enough says Jankowski

Fiji Football Association’s Technical Director Timo Jankowski says 37 week’s is enough to prepare a solid team for the 2022 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Qatar.

He said the coaching panel and players have got enough time to get settled and start their preparation ahead of the international competition.

“37 weeks is very much enough to prepare.”

“It’s all about time management and how the girls take the training.”

“37 weeks sound long but on the other hand they really have to progress now.”

“We have a lot of things to be done but with this COVID-19 situation it didn’t allow the players to go ahead with the plans.”

He said the Women’s Super League which will resume this week will also enable him to scout for more players and also see the standard of the current reps.

“Yes, it will be very important for scouting for some new players because we don’t want to miss out on potential players.”

“There are many other talented girls whom I am not aware of but this week I hope to see more young talents.”

26 players are part of the Digicel National Women’s camp in Vatuwaqa.
