FFA terminates Rodu, Sikuri : Yusuf

Fiji Football Association has terminated the contracts of national women’s head coach Marika Rodu and Development Officer William Sikuri.

Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf confirmed the duo’s termination as they refused to vaccinate although both were given two months’ time.

Yusuf said they had to implement the government's strict policy on ‘No Jab, No Job’.

“It’s not in our hands, the government has implemented the policy and we need to follow that,” Yusuf emphasised.

“We gave him eight weeks’ time to vaccinate but he kept refusing so we had no other option than to terminate his contract. He can resume his duties if he receives his vaccination.”

“No Jab No Job is very simple and those who do not follow the policy will be terminated. He has been terminated while another staff and Development Officer William Sikuri has been laid off his duties.”

“For the meantime Fiji FA’s technical director Mr Timo Jankowski will mentor the national women’s team as they march into camp mid-next week.”

“If he chooses to vaccinate then our doors are open for him. Vaccination is vital and we urge him to please vaccinate,” Yusuf explained.
