Nadi shifts focus on Nadroga

Nadi football team has shifted their focus on the match against Nadroga in round eight of the Digicel Premier League on Sunday.

While Coach Shalen Lal said is satisfied with the sides 1-all draw against Rewa over the weekend, he said they have more to deliver.

Lal said returning to field after six months and the players putting up a good performance has impressed him.

“Yes, I’m pleased with the result against Rewa on Sunday. The boys gave a very improved and stunning performance. I saw them playing a different level football compared to the start of the season.”

“They seemed more energetic and had the eagerness to win in them. This is the kind of attitude we expect them to have in the next match. What is done is done and we have learnt some lessons from Rewa also.”

“We are expecting a tough Nadroga after hearing their 2-1 win over Navua on Sunday. We know they will come out strong and we need to counter them. We will have the recovery sessions and make some new plans in defending Nadroga.”

The Jet Setters will be working on strengthening their defense as they don’t want to concede any goals against the Stallions.

“Our main aim is to stop Nadroga and not to concede any goals. Our defense is weak and that is one area we want to work. They will come out firing and that’s something we expect from them.”

“The boys will also need to step up. Playing Nadroga will not be easy since they have an experienced coach also. But the team that trains better will sweep the victory.”

Easy Kool Nadi will host Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga at 3pm at Churchill Park on Sunday.
