Kamikamica stood down after being charged

Melbourne Storm has stood down Fiji Bati rep Tui Kamikamica after he was charged by Queensland Police over an alleged incident involving a woman outside a Brisbane hotel.

The incident is also being investigated by the National Rugby League's integrity unit.

Kamikamica has played 22 matches for the Storm in the 2021 NRL season including the preliminary-final loss to Penrith at Brisbane's Lang Park in September.

Melbourne Storm in a statement said due to the seriousness of the allegations, they made the decision to stand down Kamikamica, pending his plea in response to the allegations, the [outcome of the] NRL integrity unit investigation and the club concluding a formal, in-person interview with Kamikamica, who remains out of state.”

The club said it will not make further comments until it has been advised of Kamikamica's plea and conducted further enquiries.

The 27-year-old prop has made 55 appearances for the Storm since his NRL debut in 2017.
