Waqa to lead Blues in Futsal IDC

Veteran Taniela Waqa will captain Lautoka in the 2021 Digicel Futsal Inter District Championship which kicks off on Thursday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
Coach Wasim Kutty said Waqa will create a lot of impact and will be the most experienced player in the team.
Kutty also confirmed that Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, Samuela Gavo and Solomon import Wilson Doedoke will feature for the Blues.
"We have never won the Futsal IDC and this year our mission is to write our name on the title."
"It's our second year in Futsal IDC and our aim is to take a better step and improve from where we left."
"In 2020 Futsal IDC we finished fifth and that was a good lesson for us. We want to reach the final stages this time although we are drawn in Group B with Western champions Ba, neighbors Nadi and Tailevu Naitasiri."
"We have done our best preparation and I am confident that Lautoka will get the title. The boys have sacrificed a lot and have been working really hard," he added.
Lautoka will take on Nadi in its first match at 9.15pm on Friday.
