Fiji wins silver in Women's Tennis

Team Fiji Women’s Tennis won a silver medal at the Pacific Mini Games in Saipan over the weekend.

This was Fiji’s first medal at the games and first ever medal in the sport at the mini games.

Saoirse Alanna and Ruby Sharon Coffin carried the flag for team Fiji into the final but lost to Papua New Guinea.

The men’s division and pairing of William O’Connell and Sebastian Tikaram fell short of claiming a medal after being bundled out of the semi-finals by hosts Northern Marianas Island, and later in the Bronze medal playoff by Tahiti.

The singles competition begins today.
