Flying Fijians flyhalf Ben Volavola is excited to team up with former Queensland Reds outside back Teti Tela for the first time.
Volavola, who often played against pivot Tela on the domestic scene in Australia said it will be a different feeling playing together with him in the Pacific Nations Cup.
"He's a really good player. I've known and played against Teti since we were 20 years old."
"So he's a Brisbane boy. I'm a Sydney boy."
"And we've been friends for a long time and I'm really excited to see that Teti has finally gotten an opportunity at Super Rugby level."
"I think he's played a couple of games with the Reds but to see him around with us now is good and he has grown from the opportunity in the last New Zealand tour so I am really excited to see how he goes during the PNC."
Volavola further shared his excitement of returning home and marrying his lady love after COVID-19 pandemic held things back.
"Really excited to get home after our wedding and my wife and I are both happy to return to Fiji after three years." "It's been a really long time because of COVID. And joining this team, this squad and it's filled with a lot of good players, a lot of young players from the Drua, which is really exciting for our local people."
"And I'm really excited to see our squad grow over the next few weeks with you just competing for the same spot."
