It's been an amazing journey, says Habosi

Vodafone Flying Fijians Vinaya Habosi is still awestruck with how far he has come in his rugby journey.

The 22-year-old Nadroga native said when his name was called out for the Pacific Nations Cup match against Tonga; he was emotional thinking back about his journey.

“This time last year I was training as part of Gareth Baber’s Fiji 7s squad,” Habosi told FijiLive.

“The aim back then was playing for the Fiji 7s team, I never dreamed that a year later I would be in the Flying Fijians.”

Habosi said with one day to go until game time, it was more excitement than nerves.

“I just can't wait to get on the field and play, they say a lot about the big names on the other side, and our side, but it is part of the job.

“Whether it is club game, or Super Rugby or international rugby, the important thing is focusing that I do my part for the team.”
