Ba outclasses Tailevu Naitasiri

Ba bounced back to winning ways in the Digicel Premier League today after beating Tailevu Naitasiri 4-2 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

After getting a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Labasa last weekend, the Men in Black put on a much improved performance and scored two quick goals through striker Luke Savu to lead in the first quarter of the game.

Lanky Etonia Dogalau added the third for Ba in the 24th minute after connecting well with a Naren Rao deep cross.

Tailevu Naitasiri pulled one back just before the break through a Ryan Chandra penalty after replacement Martin Nasova was brought down inside the box by Rahul Naresh.

Ba led 3-1 at the break and looked a little lazy and unorganized in the second spell which allowed hardworking captain Jone Naraba to sneak in with Tailevu Naitasiri’s second goal after youngster Chandra beat two defenders and laid the ball into his path.

With the scores narrowing to 3-2, Tailevu Naitasiri put on a good show in the last 15 minutes of the match but a foul on Solomon Islander Ruel Grayven by Rusiate Qio saw the match referee Monit Singh award Ba a penalty.

Captain Savenaca Nakalevu made no mistake with his attempt and sent goalkeeper Jason Rokovucake diving in the wrong direction.

Ba now has 26 points after 17 appearances while Tailevu Naitasiri has 11 points and remains in relegation zone.
