MGM wins first ever Girls Blue Ribbon

Kesaia Bolekanakadavu created Coca-Cola Games history for Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School in Suva today by winning their first ever gold medal in the Senior Girls 100m final.

The former Adi Cakobau School student was very calm and composed before the final and sprinted her way to the finish line, showing a lot of determination and the sheer hunger to win the gold medal.

Speaking to FijiLive, the Year 13 student acknowledged the support she received from politician Lynda Tabuya.

"She sponsored me. She believed that I could win the gold. She always sponsored me and my family financially."

"I believed in myself. I was confident to win. I had a promise to fulfill and I did that."

"I'm happy for the support I have received so far and it's really overwhelming," she said.
