Montoya scores in Warriors disastrous loss

Fijian International Marcelo Montoya scored a try in New Zealand Warriors' 48-4 disastrous loss to North Queensland Cowboys in Round 23 of the NRL yesterday.

Cowboys stole the show with four consecutive tries from Coen Hess, Murray Taulagi, Jeremiah Nanai and Peta Hiku while Valentine Holmes converted for a 24-0 lead.

It was on the stroke of half time when the Warriors looked to have fought their way back into the contest through Montoya but conversion failed.

But the Cowboys maintained their strong contest with consolation tries from Tom Dearden, Luciano Leilua, Tom Dearden and Townsend bagging twice while Holmes added the conversion and booted a penalty.
