NZ will be Fiji's toughest opponent: Ali

Top Fijian striker Mohammed Shazil Ali says while all teams will be tough in the FANCA Nations Cup, New Zealand will their hardest opponent.

The former Lautoka, Ba, Suva and current Nasinu marksman said New Zealand always gave Fiji a run for it’s money.

“I can say we would be the team to beat, but we cannot rule out New Zealand,” Shazil said.

“New Zealand is always hard on us.”

Ali said he was excited to cross paths again with New Zealand who won the last FANCA Nations Cup in 2018.

“They won in 2018, so they will come hard this year, it will be tough, but we are coming ready as well.”

Fiji takes on USA in their opening match of the Digicel/Rams Cleaning Services FANCA Nations Cup at Prince Charles Park at 6.45pm tomorrow.
