Women's Premiership launched

11 teams will compete in the inaugural Fiji National Rugby League Women’s Premiership which was officially launched at Albert Park  in Suva today.

FNRL chief executive Don Natabe said it is time for great strides for women's competition.

“Women are the heartbeat of this society, and play a pivotal role,” Natabe said during the launch.

The 11 teams are the Ba Eagles, Burenitu Cowboys, Nadera Panthers, Yasawa Saints, Kainiyahawa Tigers, Sharks White, Vusu Raiders, Veiyasana Knights, Lami Steelers, USP Raiders and Police Sharks.

“We celebrate the expansion of all facets of their role in rugby league.

“From leaders and administrators, the mothers club as well as fans and officials our game.”

Natabe said added a new chapter had been open with an exciting prospect to the Fiji Bulikula also achieving new heights.
