Ba Provincial through to semis

Ba Provincial School has booked its spot in the semifinals of the 2022 Vodafone Super Deans Championship in the U18 grade after beating Nasinu Secondary 12-5 in the first quarterfinal at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.
Both teams displayed a solid performance  in the first quarter of the match but it was loosehead prop Timoci Natabu  who got the lone try of the first half to give Ba Provincial a 5-0 halftime lead.

The wet and slippery conditions took its toll on the players and coaches of both teams sent in replacements early in the second spell with Ba Provincial fielding Naosni Sayabo, Leone Waqalalala and Jone Naiceru in place of Falu Feliaku, Jova Vuda and Manoa Tabuarua.

Nasinu sent in Denny Korosaya, Peni Dobui, Alipate Druava and Ilaitia Mainatiro in place of Nemani Savai, Tevita Tora, Iliesa Namado and Manasa Cewa.

Nasinu could not resist the pressure applied by the Westerners which saw an infield pass from Jone Naceru beautifully turned into a try by halfback Jone Navatulagi and Watisoni Druma converted for a 12-0 lead.
Nasinu Secondary could have got on the scoreboard through Solomoni Naba but he spilled the ball out just a couple of metres away from the try-line.
Ba Pro continued to build on possession but Nasinu failed their plans in the 60th minute through Eroni Waqa, who raced to his breath for a try but the conversion failed.
Ba Provincial will meet the winner of the RKS vs Marist quarterfinal in the first semifinal at Prince Charles Park in Nadi next Saturday.
