Welagi eyes first Hong Kong 7s

Fiji 7s squad member Tira Welagi remains content and is eager to play in his first ever Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong 7s tournament next month.
Speaking to FijiLive, Welagi said despite missing out on the Commonwealth and World Cup selection, he is determined to make it in the Hong Kong 7s squad.
"I missed out on the Commonwealth and World Cup but I congratulate the players for the win."
"Their win has motivated me to keep doing my best and I have the 7s hope in me."
"Hong Kong is next and I have always watched it on TV but never played."
"So I'm just preparing for that and hoping to settle with the Fiji 7s team players and give it my best."
"I have been part of the extended squad and I am aware of the type of training players do."
"And I'm ready to put my hands up for the selection and just do my best. Not wearing the national jumper at the two major 7s tournaments has encouraged me to keep trying and that's what I'm doing," he added.
The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong 7s returns after 2019 and will be played from the 4 to 6 of November.
