Fiji Bati in good shape: Watkins

Fiji Bati Head of Performance Tom Watkins says it has been a good week for the team in camp and players are adjusting well for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.
The Bati players have spent the week shaking off the jetlag and getting back into stride in England.
“We have had a really good week in camp,” Watkins said.
“The boys have sort of come in with different loads I guess, we have had to juggle guys getting off planes at different times and that kind of stuff.
“Definitely a bit stiff and sorted to start off the week, so it was about getting them moving and mobile and able to train.
“Since then we have really been able to wrap up the intensity and get them towards that match day sort of feel which has been really great and the boys have responded really well.
With a warm-up match planned for the side, Watkins said they would be ready by gameday.
“I feel we are in a good pattern, and these warm up games will tell us where we are at before our first game against Australia.
The Bati take on the Australian Kangaroos in their first match at Headingley in Leeds on Sunday October 16 at 6.30am.
