Fitness was the key for Ba, says Ali

Ba Coach Imdad Ali says fitness played a major role in their impressive 3-0 win over Lautoka on Day 1 of the 2022 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

He said fitness was huge a concern for Ba during the Digicel Premier League but he was content in getting the players to their best form ahead of IDC.

"I came with one aim and that was fitness."

"Our fitness was let down in the league for us but after the league I promised my players that they will come to IDC in a par form and I fulfilled my promise."

"It was very difficult to get the players in the form because some had to work extra hard but the morning and afternoon training sessions have really paid off."

"I’m sure fitness will again be the key in our remaining games because I believe in my boys and have seen them going the extra mile to put in their effort."

He also thanked his payers for putting up a brilliant performance and following the instructions in giving neighbors Lautoka a tough time.

"I just want to say that the boys really played very well."

"We played according to the game plan that we had."

"It's a very young squad. Everybody can see it's a very young age player but nevertheless, it's hard work, the dedication of the players and it's them listening."

"Listening to a coach is one of those most important things and that paid today and we will win and hopefully the rest of the games."

RC Manubhai Ba will take on Sharam Hangers Rewa in their next match at 5pm tomorrow.
