Fiji faces USA in quarters

Fiji has topped Pool A after thumping Canada 35-7 in its last match and will play the United States of America in the first Quarterfinal this afternoon.

Fiji faces a tough draw to the finals with a quarterfinal against an unpredictable and very fast and creative USA outfit , followed by the winner of South Africa and Australia, both in-form teams, in a possible semifinal clash.

South Africa ended on Fiji’s side of the draw after losing to England 17-12 in their final pool match.

England will face Kenya and NZ battle Canada on the other side of the draw.

Three teams went unbeaten as Fiji, Australia and NZ took 3 wins from 3, but Australia lost key players in Ed Jenkins, James Stannard and captain Tom Lucas to injuries.

Fiji faces the USA at 4.30pm (Fiji Time), Australia plays South Africa at 4.52pm, NZ takes on Canada at 5.14pm and England will battle against defending champions Kenya at 5.36pm.
