Fiji overcomes Canada, faces Aust in semis

Defending champion Fiji has progressed to the semifinals of the Hong Kong 7s after beating Canada 29-12 in the second quarterfinal at the So Kon Po Stadium in Happy Valley today.

The first half was very tight as both teams scored two tries each and rested 12-12 at the break with Vatemo Ravouvou and Kalione Nasoko scoring for Fiji and Luke McChoskey and Lucas Hammond scoring for Canada.

The Fijians lifted their game and scored three unanswered tries in the second half through Ravouvou, Nasoko and Sevuloni Mocenacagi to seal the win.

Fiji will face Australia in the first semifinal at  7.31pm (Fiji Time).

Australia defeated Argentina 21-12 in the first quarterfinal.
