Fiji thrashed in U20 Championship opener

The Vodafone Fiji U20 side was thrashed 63-3 by New Zealand in its opening match of the Oceania U20 Championship at Bond University on the Gold Coast in Australia tonight.

New Zealand scored eight unanswered tries in the match and led 35-0 at halftime.

Filimoni Botitu scored the only points for Fiji from a penalty in the second half.

Fiji faces Australia in its next match on Tuesday at 9pm (Fiji Time).
