Lautoka wins Muslim IDC

Lautoka were crowned the winners of the 2017 Muslim Inter District Championship (IDC) at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today after their 2-0 win over Valelevu in the grand final.

After playing to a goal-less draw in the first half, the teams lifted their game in the second half and the Sugar City boys managed to score their goals through Sheik Mohammed Nasif and Tabraz Shah.

Strikers Mohammed Shazil Ali and Shameem Ali missed a couple more chances late in the match while Valelevu with the likes of Mira Sahib and Imtiaz Begg also had their chances but poor finishing let them down.

Earlier in the semifinals, Lautoka defeated champions Makoi 2-1 while Valelevu overcame Maigania 1-0.
