Suva has grabbed the lead on the Vodafone Premier League standings after outclassing Dreketi 4-1 at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today. Striker Sairusi Nalabu opened Suva’s account in the 22nd minute of play after beautifully beating the last line of defence and placing the ball past goalkeeper Waisake Ravuiwasa. The Whites led 1-0 at the break and striker Ravinesh Karan Singh doubled their lead in the 49th minute. Sitiveni Rakai pulled one back for Dreketi in the 54th minute but two further goals by Singh and veteran Pita Rabo saw Suva register three points and move to the top of the table with 12 points after six matches. Dreketi returns home empty handed from Viti Levu as they also suffered a 4-0 drubbing against Rewa on Friday night. By Reginald Chandar |
